Samsung Ego GT-S9402 launched officially
Samsung has had several tries at designing and selling a luxury device, but didn’t really have much luck and earlier forays into a luxury cellphone market in partnership with Bang & Olufsen weren’t too successful.So for the next try on luxury market Samsung has decided to go it alone with Samsung Ego S9402 phone.Today Samsung Ego GT-S9402 has been launched officially.
First of all, the design is, as with most luxury models, pretty fancy and eccentric, but not in a way that bothers the eye in any way. Besides the classic candybar shape, this Samsung also comes equipped with several luxury additions, namely, some advanced and unusual materials, which might just give to it the “x” factor it needs.
And for some “luxury” advanced materials. According to the official PR the body of S9402 Samsung Ego phone is made of “liquidmetal” composite alloy developed by Caltech, which is “3 times stronger, can withstand 1.8 times the pressure, is 1.6 time more flexible, has 3 times better vibration absorbption and 100% lower termal conductivity then titanium“.
It’s got the 262K color QVGA AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection and LED flash, FM radio, tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB, 1 GB of built-in memory, microSD card slot that supports up to 8GB additional storage, and the thing that’s most unique about it, active dual-SIM functionality.
It’s expected to retail for around 1200 EUR.1200 EUR (roughly $1500).
